The Bryan County School System is currently accepting applications for Network Engineer. The successful candidate must meet all requirements as listed below:
Position Overview: Ensure the proper operation of the Local and Wide Area Networks throughout the school district, and provide second level hardware,software and networking support to all school facilities.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- In field four year degree or equivalent preferred.

Three years work experience designing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Ethernet networks (wired, fiber, and/or wireless) in a multilocation MAN (metropolitan area network) environment. This includes hardware such as firewalls, content filters, switches, and wireless access points.

Three years work experience supporting Microsoft Active Directory environments and services provided such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAPS, SFTP, and VoIP (minimum).
Skills and Abilities:
- Large TCP/IP networks to include interfacing to the Internet
- Multiprotocol routers, switches and WiFi access points (Cisco & Aruba preferred)
- VLAN architectures, design concepts and security implementations
- Microsoft Active Directory and policy management, Powershell skills a plus
- Fast/Gig/m-Gig Ethernet topologies and physical infrastructures (copper, fiber, & wireless)
- VMWare and virtualization, SCSI/RAID and other server technologies
- Firewalls, Content filters, and end point protection systems
- Computer and network security practices based on NIST Standards and CIS Controls
- Analyze network problems, identify and correct issues in a timely manner
- Work independently as well as lead projects
- Interpret logs, reports, and test results to address security and/or operations flaws/weaknesses
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs.
