The Bryan County School system is currently accepting applications for Coordinator of Special Education.  The successful candidate must meet all requirements as listed below:

Position Overview:  Provide support to students with disabilities through the implementation of mandates under Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Georgia Continuous Improvement Monitoring Process (GCIMP). Leadership is provided in the following key areas of support: IEP processes/ data management, student achievement and parent support, staff support, and development and implementation of policies and procedures that follow local, state and federal regulations. 

Job Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

• Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate or related licensure

• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in special education or a related field.

Skills and Abilities: Position requires regular, frequent contact with internal personnel and external stakeholders of influence and decision-making authority to discuss issues of moderate importance.  Excellent interpersonal skills are required for interacting and working with various levels of individuals; requires excellent presentation, written and verbal skills; position utilizes technology concepts to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the department; must be proficient with computer; must possess the ability to work across functional boundaries and interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
