The Bryan County School System is accepting applications for an Intervention Paraprofessional at McAllister Elementary School for the 2018-19 school year. This position will follow a 190-day work calendar.

Position Overview

Assist teachers and administration with instructional and non-instructional student centered support with a goal of implementing a quality, functional learning environment that promotes achievement and behavioral success.

Job Qualifications

• Be eligible for or possess a current Georgia Paraprofessional certificate.

Skills and abilities include but are not limited to an exhibited ability to: work collaboratively within a team, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, maintain a professional demeanor at all times, approach problem solving in a detail-oriented, logical and methodical manner, assist with the day-to-day tasks of managing the academic, physical and emotional needs of young students.

Essential Job Duties

• Assist classroom teacher with maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment.
• Implement individual positive intervention plans for identified students.
• Assist with the implementation of RtI for identified students.
• Conduct learning activities and interventions with small groups and individual students under the direction of a classroom teacher or school administrator designed to promote positive behavior outcomes.
• Assist with data collection and maintaining student records.
• Assist classroom teacher with moving students among activities and locations, including restrooms, school activities away from the classroom, outside activities and arrival/departure from school.
• Support school administrators in the overall goal of promoting positive behavior outcomes.
• Demonstrate sound judgement, critical thinking and decision making when responding to individual student needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
