The Bryan County School System is accepting applications for an anticipated opening for a Lead Teacher in the Childcare Center at Bryan County Elementary School, for the 2021-2022 school year.  

Position Overview

The Lead Teacher is responsible for general classroom management and supervision, which includes the personal care, hygiene, and positive discipline of the children. S/he plans and implements the HighScope curriculum, which includes activities for children that stress physical, social, and emotional growth and provides materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in active play. The Lead Teacher prepares materials and classrooms for class activities and conducts all activities in a safe, organized, and productive manner.

Job Qualifications

• Must hold either an Associate degree in Early Childhood Care and Education or other child development related field or a Child Development Associate credential; Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous teaching or assistant teaching position with a public or private school system, a quality preschool, childcare center or church nursery.
• CPR and 1st Aid Certifications (or willingness to obtain these)
• Ability to form positive relationships with children. Knowledge of social, emotional needs of children.
• Knowledge of lesson planning and curriculum implementation.
• Adequate knowledge on principles and policies of safety and suitable activities for children.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
